Our Mission

At Port Charlotte Church of Christ, our mission is simple: to glorify God by spreading the good news that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. We believe in following the New Testament pattern for the church, gathering as believers to worship, study God’s word, and support one another in living for Christ.

What We Believe

Our beliefs are grounded in Scripture and our behaviors are guided by the New Testament

Salvation Through Christ

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the only path to salvation (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through hearing God's word, believing in Jesus, repenting of sin, confessing Jesus as Lord, and being baptized for the forgiveness of sins (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9-10)

Authority of Scripture

The Bible is our sole authority in all matters of faith and practice. We strive to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where it is silent (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Baptism

We practice baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of sins, as commanded by Jesus and practiced by the early church (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-4).

We observe the Lord’s Supper every Sunday, as the early church did. In Acts 20:7, believers gathered “on the first day of the week…to break bread,” showing a regular, weekly pattern of remembering Christ together.

Each week, we share the bread and cup to remember Christ’s sacrifice, reflect on our walk with Him, and renew our unity as His church.

The church is the body of believers purchased by Christ’s blood. We seek to follow the New Testament example of worship and organization, gathering each Sunday to break bread, pray, sing, give, and study God’s word (Acts 2:42, Acts 20:7).

The Church
Singing

We practice a cappella congregational singing, following the New Testament pattern of worship. Scripture instructs believers to “sing and make melody in your hearts to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). Because the early church is shown singing without the use of instruments or choirs, we continue this simple, unified form of worship today. The entire congregation sings together, encouraging one another in praise to God.

Our Leadership

Our congregation is guided by dedicated men and women who serve with humility, care, and a commitment to God’s Word. Each person plays an important role in supporting the spiritual, administrative, and daily needs of the church. We are thankful for their service and for the example they set as they work together to strengthen and encourage the body of Christ.
